The chair

This week Nina tried her vibrating, jungle chair for the first time and really seemed to like it! Here is some video of her experience. I warn you, it's extremely climactic.

Almost two weeks

We can't believe Nina is going to be two weeks old tomorrow! Things are going well and we think we have some things figured out, until she changes it up. Some new pics to share including Christian and his way of proving to me that he can watch the baby and still play Xbox, giving Nina her first bottle, and some stretching in the sun.

One week already

Happy one week birthday to Nina! We have all survived the first week together, trying to figure one another out. It's been exciting, interesting and sleep deprived, but we're working it out. A lot of firsts this week....umbilical cord fell off, first ride in the stroller and first bath! Here are some pics of our wild week together.

She's here!

It all started on Superbowl Sunday...I was having some minor contractions all throughout, making Christian leave our friends' house in the middle of the game. Things progressed all night and I labored at home until Monday at 11pm when we finally went to the hospital. I'll skip this part and end at 9:37am on Tuesday, February 9th when Nina Haller Shaw arrived. Named for my Grandpa Nat who passed away 2 yrs ago and Christian's father, James Haller, we are proud she will carry on the name of two men we are so proud to have had in our lives.

She weighed 7 lbs, 14 oz and was 19 1/2 inches long.

We are beyond words and look forward to lots of memories together.

Snow fun

We've been snow deprived here in Seattle this winter and my East Coast roots were starting to take over, so Christian took me on a drive East of the city to see some snow. It was a beautiful drive and really cool to arrive to tons of snow, only 45 minutes away! I'm looking a bit haggard and very pregnant, but thought I'd share anyway.

Progression

Here I am at 38 1/2 weeks...12 days to go till my due date. Latest report from the doctor is that I'm 50% effaced and the baby's head has lowered. So great progress from last week, but still no predictions on d-day! Just trucking along waiting for our little girl to arrive. Anxious and excited.

Ladybug's room

Some video footage of Ladybug's room, pretty much complete. Ignore my odd narration and Christian's legs in the last part. We are very happy with it though, I can't stop standing in the doorway just imagining our baby girl in there.
